About Apartment 404
What is Apartment 404?
Apartment 404 is a web cartoon series about four people that live together in an apartment. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s insightful, and sometimes it’s neither.
Where did the name come from?
The “Apartment” part refers to the apartment where the characters live. The “404″ part is a reference to a 404 error code. A 404 error code on a website is when a file or page can’t be found on the server. That’s also the inspiration for the site design. It’s meant to look similar to a 404 error.
How do I contact you?
Feel free to email me about anything you want at sorensilk@apt404.com. I read every email I get and I respond to as many as I can. If you have a question about anything related to the store, please email store@apt404.com, you’ll receive a quicker response.
Who does the website, animation, sound fx, voices, etc.?
I do everything on the site except the voice of Groupie. She is voiced by my wife.
How often are new episodes posted?
Episodes are usually posted once a week on Monday’s at 4:04am CST. If you want to get an email update whenever an episode is posted just let me know by emailing sorensilk@apt404.com. Or you can also subscribe to the RSS feed by clicking on the little orange icon at the bottom right corner of the page. Apartment 404 is also a podcast in iTunes. Click here to subscribe. (iTunes must be installed)
How is Apartment 404 created?
The animation is done in Adobe Flash, voices and sound are done in Adobe Audition, some images are done using Adobe Photoshop. (Starting to see a pattern?) All the coding for the website is generally done in Notepad, WordPad or sometimes Adobe Dreamweaver. And if you care, everything is done on a PC. (Macs are cool too though, I love my iPhone)
Is it Apt 404 or Apartment 404?
Apt is just short for Apartment. You can write it either way but they both should be pronounced “Apartment Four Oh Four”.
Why do the episodes start at 101? Where are 1-100?
101 means Season 1 Episode 01.
Can I send you and idea for an episode?
Absolutely. I can’t promise to use your idea but you can email me anything you want to sorensilk@apt404.com or contact me through Twitter.
Can I send you fan-art or a video I made from one of your episodes?
Absolutely. Just email it to me at sorensilk@apt404.com. If it’s really good I may even post it on the site.
